FIHS Football Roundup
This week I was able to cover the JV and the Varsity game. (sorry Freshmen!)
JV totally dominated the ball.. their first drive took up the entire 1st quarter and 2 minutes of the 2nd quarter!!
Here’s the touchdown picture from that awesome drive
Final score was 21-6…. and we’ve heard that the OP team actually brought down some varsity players to play against us on JV. (That would explain the lowest score we’ve had that this year) Click here to see the rest of the game.
Varsity played at home again and enjoyed another district win! The Golden Eagles are undefeated and definitely play like winners.
At one point we scored a touchdown 3 plays in a row (penalties brought it back each time)…. and we were 60 yards out at the time!
We had a really sweet interception with a long return by #44. Our defense loves getting their hands on the ball!

We even played our future Gator Offensive Lineman on defense and offered him a piece of the Seabreeze QB.

Overall, we won 42-21… click here to see the rest of the game pictures.
Next week is HOMECOMING! I wonder if these guys will get painted up like this on the night of the dance!?

Gently Trashing the dress…
Well, I’ve done it… I’ve shot my very first “Trashing the Dress” session! I was really excited and nervous about taking this project on if you want to know the truth! The idea behind it is really cool…. you’re not going to wear your wedding dress again, and you felt really stiff and formal and afraid to get it dirty during your Wedding Day Formals… so why not GET DIRTY after the wedding, but before the dry cleaners gets a hold of your dress!
I’ve seen some dresses get totally TRASHED (paint, scissors, mud etc) and I wasn’t quite ready for that. So, we decided to do a mild version of this session and allowed the dresses to get dirty… but not destroyed.
They can still send these dresses to the cleaners, have them preserved and still have a story to tell about their photo shoot!!
Here’s a few favorites of mine…
@ Treaty Oak
@ Big Talbot Island
So… who’s next????!!! Call today to book your own session! Wedding dresses, prom dresses… whatever!! Just let your hair down (figuratively and/or literally) and have some fun for a change!!

The Good…….
What a night!!! Fleming Island Golden Eagles JV team spent the evening in Palatka in their toughest battle yet. They were down 3 with only 6 seconds to go when #23 fires off a 47 yard field goal causing us to go into overtime!!
The Eagles held the Panthers on the first possesion in Overtime and then scored a TD to win the game!!!
Overall this game was a very exciting and passionate game, full of hard play, a few costly mistakes, and a real winning attitude even to the last second!
Check all the action here…. the good, the bad.. and well, I didn’t upload the really ugly.

FIHS Sweeps the Week
Football 3 nights this week! All 3 of Fleming Island Football teams beat Ridgeview!
Varsity started off a little rough but rallied together and came back to win big. I was especially impressed by #94 last night who came out and encouraged his teammates who were tired and frustrated by bad calls… and then proceeded to lead the charge and sack the quarterback. Here he is psyching up his teammates
and within the next 30 seconds…. sacking the Ridgeview quarterback.
Some other fun times last night were:
great runs…
great tackles…
and even a little……
Romance!??
Overall it was another fun football night! Click here to see all the pictures from the FIHS win 31 to 14 over Ridgeview.

every inch counts
JV beat Ridgeview tonight in only 2 partial quarters. 30-7!
The game was called on the account of lighting nearby.
I really LOVE this shot of #10 leaping for that extra yardage! Our guys started out by giving up a fumble and then a touchdown… and they definitely rose to the challenge after that!
Some teams might get down after a bad start and let the momentum keep pushing them around… but Golden Eagles stand up and fight back with a vengeance!!!
Go Fleming Island!!!
I’ll have all the pictures up sometime overnight…

A special night for #25
Last night, for FIHS’s 9-11 game, they took on Forrest and totally dominated the field all night. With a final score of 45-7, the Golden Eagles had lots to celebrate. Yet they still took the field with heavy hearts. Not only in observation of 9-11, but also to mourn the passing of one player’s mother.
The team rallied together and supported their team mate in his grief and helped him dedicate a wonderful game in her memory.
My prayers go out to him and his family right now. I hope that these pictures will someday be looked back upon with a healing touch.
Much love and many prayers and condolenscens going out to you T.N. I’m so proud to be a part of Fleming Island High, especially when I get to see how we rally together as a group to support each other!

See you next week at Ridgeview!

JV & Freshmen Stomp OP!
Tonight I caught the end of the Freshman Game at FIHS, as our guys proudly brought their record up to 1 and 1 by beating Orange Park 28 to 6!! Definitely a job well done! I only took a few pictures, but you can find them here:
Hooray Golden Eagles!
Wendy McCurry also covered this game so you can find her pictures of the freshman game here: ( link coming soon)
JV came onto the field at 7pm and quickly took control of the field. A strong defense held the Raiders to many 3 and outs… and our offense scored on every drive. The final score was a wonderful shut out of 46-0!
First a few of my favorites…
View the rest of the action here.
Join us tomorrow at Fleming Island High as our varsity team hosts Forrest!

Sneak Peak into a Sunday Wedding
Happy Labor Day! I spent my entire labor day excitedly editing some photos from my Sunday wedding for Britany and Terry! I still have a bunch left to edit (I won’t even go into how many pictures I shot in my 11 1/2 hours with them!!!), but I wanted to get a sneak peak put up of some of my early favorites!
B & T chose the Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village, and I must say, it’s a gorgeous place for a wedding!
Here’s a few of my favorites… I’ll write up more of a story about their wedding later this week when I have more pictures to add!
Check back later for more!!!
